Bold statements can look incredible in a large space, creating dramatic effects and stunning focal points.
- In a large garden, sectioning is even more important to prevent your garden looking imposing or daunting. You can create ‘gardens within gardens’, such as a gravel garden or an area with a particular theme.
- A patio area at the rear of the garden adds purpose, and will allow you to appreciate the entire space from a different angle. Often this area will be a little more peaceful if secluded by hedging and planting, and can be a perfect escape from daily stresses.
- Big, imposing borders look spectacular and are great for experimenting with planting ideas. An alpine garden or unusual grasses work well with gravels and stones.
- A large lawn can be broken up by using dynamic shapes and angles with paving. The angles will also lead the eye, so definition can be added with low-level planting which
flows away from these points.
- A gravel garden next to a patio or decking area is good for progression into a lawned area. Not only is it low-maintenance, but it’s also the perfect spot for installing feature lighting.
- Decking can make great shapes which work side by side with the lawn - a real family outdoor zone, perfect for lazy summer days and evening entertainment.
